32m mobile phone deliveries in 32 months – ICT Minister

Mohammad Soleimani, on the anniversary celebration of World Telecommunication Day, said that telecommunication and IT are means for the development of any country which also has bearing on its GNP.
He indicated that country’s telecommunication system is now able to provide valuable service to the nation, and indicated that the 1st and 3rd and WIMAX operator licenses are indicative of the progress made in that respect.
He rated Iran Telecom Research Center’s signing of protocol with 15 universities as great achievement, and revealed the whole contract has amounted to 1,180b Rial.
He indicated that there are now 39m mobile phone subscribers in the country, which would not be achieved had it not been for the assistance from Dr Ahmadi-Nejad.
