1st Hamraah SIM cards offered with new tariff – from early June
pre- and postpaid SIM cards will start early June.
Abdol-Majid Amin, in conversation with MOBNA, said application registration will be conducted with the new tariffs prepared and authorized by Radio Communication & Regulations Organization (RCRO).
He indicated, however, that failure to increase mobile phone tariffs has caused numerous problems for telecom service bureaus.
He said some tariffs, such as on SMS and Caller-ID services, which have been declared free are, in fact, costly to such bureaus.
Based on the RCRO’s 39th session ruling, tariff on change of address for pre- and postpaid SIM cards has been reduced by 70% to 150,000 Rial,, and that on replacement of lost or deactivated SIM cards has been decreased by 28.5% to 50,000 Rial, of which the bureau takes 20,000 Rial.
Tariff on Caller-Id and SMS services have been reduced by 100%, making it free of charge.
Subscribers are to pay 10,000 Rial for a VMS service, and 50,000 Rial for change of name for postpaid SIM cards, half of which will go to the bureau.
Finally, tariff on change of name for prepaid SIM card has been reduced by 95%, making it 5,000 Rial.
