Foreign countries to participate in third mobile phone operator tender: official
“Some foreign operators have already entered into partnership with some Iranian companies since they are not allowed more than 49 percent of third nation wide
operator shares,” Ministry of Information and Communication Technology’s director of International Affairs, Ahmad Pourang-Nia said.
“A foreign company that wins the third nation wide operator tender would need at least 3 billion dollars to start operation but their total investment in the country will amount to more than that,” he said.
“It may amount to more than 3 million euros, which depends on the offers made by operators,” he responded to a question on “How much will the government charge for third nationwide mobile operators license?”
The second mobile operator, Irancell, has paid 300 million euros for its license.
