80,000 users downloaded first mobile operators` Persian sms updated version

“The first version of the Persian sms software has already been downloaded by 30,000 users, bringing the overall number to nearly 405,000,” The technical director of the Mobile Company of Irans Persian sms project Jafar Mohammai told Mobna news agency.
He suggested, however, that the 27 million strong MCI subscribers could directly acquire the software using Bluetooth.
He added that testing the software on 171 models of mobile phone, pointing out that similar brands of a model have been counted as one model.
He said there have been talks with mobile set importers so that the software could be tested in the countries of origin.
He hoped that a newer version of the software would be issued from time to time bearing in mind users demands.
Persian sms software, which makes possible transmission of 200 Persian characters in one SMS, is being issues by the Mobile Company of Iran in a bid to promote the Persian language.
Sharif Center for Advanced information technology is the software’s producer.
The software may be downloaded from www.mci.ir website.
The tariffs for non-Persian and Persian Payamacs are 222 and 89 rials respectively (two to less than a cent).
