MCI prepaid sim card not overcharged

“MCI has signed an agreement with telecom service bureaus for the distribution of its 01919 sim cards, and the procedure is being closely monitored,” Zahir Tayyeb told Mobna news agency.
He said the control is being exerted by the Trade Ministry, appropriate guilds in provinces and MCI itself on distribution procedure and prices.
He acknowledged, however, that there has been a shortage of the 120,000-rial sim card in recent days, and some being sold as high as 180,000 rials.
He said more sim cards will be introduced to the market shortly to overcome the shortage.
The 120,000-rial 0919 sim card has a 20,000-rial initial charge, whose expiry date has been extended by more than twice.
