RCRO should disclose no of sim cards sold by Second Operator: ICT minister

“Numbering does not mean the operator can sell as many as 40 million sim cards, but its basis is the number specified in the license,” Reza Taghipour told Mobna news agency.
“RCRO is responsible to control the operator’s license in case it has violated its quota,” he said.
“Some of operator’s sim cards are floated, which means they cannot be activated, and that may be the reason why its no of subscribers is not exact but RCRO is obliged to announce the figure,” he added.
Second Operator has so far occupied 40 million numbers, and in addition to 0935, 0936 and 0937 codes, it has lately been offering sim cards with 0938 code.  
The operator is permitted to sell 16 million sim cards in 15 years. It has not announced its no of subscribers, however, nor the no of sim cards sold, but unofficial figures show that it has released 20 million sim cards and half of them are not active.
