Farsi Language Linux document draft to be offered to cabinet
“This document after being studied in Information Technology Company will be offered to cabinet for final approval,” telecommunication ministry information technology infrastructure chief manager Ali Naseri told Iran’s mobile news agency (MOBNA).
“Dependence to foreign software companies will no longer be needed by implementing Farsi Linux plan,” he continued.
“Farsi language Linux operating system security is high,” he added.
“Iran software knowledge will be developed and upgraded by implementing Farsi language Linux and when open source software development document draft is finalized all executive and official organizations should install it,” Naseri added.
In line with Islamic Republic of Iran 20-year outlook and in continuance of information technology development in Fourth Development Plan (2005-2010), open source software usage and development guideline program has been set.
