Telecommunication Company of Iran owes 4.9 trillion rials to government

The report says that Radio Communication & Regulations Organization (RCRO) formally handed over the first nation wide mobile phone operator’s license to Telecommunication Company of Iran after determining its debt repayment procedure to the government.
Radio Communication & Regulations Organization of the telecommunication ministry is a regulatory body which sets the standards of operation, issues operation license and oversees the functions of the phone operators.
It has been decided that Mobile Company of Iran, the countrys first nation wide mobile operators is to pay out 4.9 trillion rials outstanding from its license value to RCRO within 4 years.
The value of Telecommunication Company of Iran license for 21 million mobile and 23 million landline phone subscribers is to be 7.5 trillion rials (797 million dollars).
Telecommunication Company of Iran’s license has been the main sticking point in its route to privatization, resulting in a number of delays.
