Landline sms to be launched for one million Tehrani subscribers
When the project is launched subscribers will be able to transmit sms from landline to landline or from landline to mobile phone.
Sending sms from landline to landline in short distance will be charged 44.7 rials a pulse and in long distance will be charge twice as much.
Landline sms pilot phase was performed by Peikasa Company for the first time in Shiraz (Fars provincial capital).
“An auction was held in Tabriz (East Azerbaijan provincial capital) for the first time and the winner Peikasa Company launched the service equipments in this city, but landline sms service has not been offered to the subscribers yet,” company project manager Farshid Golzadeh told Mobna news agency.
“Lack of special sets for landline sms service and using sms via mobile phone network are among reasons that provincial telecommunication companies can not offer this service,” he added.
“Other provinces are very close to install equipments by holding auctions. After auctions are carried out and the winners are determined then it will take four months for the project to be launched,” he said.
“Foreign companies can attend in auction in cooperation with domestic companies,” Golzadeh added.
