Filtering committee structure formation: Parliament telecom committee head
“In this committee, special workgroups have been formed who will review criminal and non-criminal contents in internet websites,” Ali Motahhari told Mobna news agency.
“Such workgroups contain experts in cultural, communication, legal and security fields,” he said.
“Revision of criminal and non-criminal content is not only of internet but also of mobile phone and other relevant fields,” he added.
“The committee has 12 members but its meetings can be held with minimum 7 members,” he said.
“It does not issue a decree but its duty is to review criminal and non-criminal content in cyberspace,” he added.
The committee head is the Chief Public Prosecutor and its members are ministers or representatives from Education, ICT, Information, Justice, Sciences, Research and Technology and Islamic Guidance and Culture ministries, heads of Islamic Development Organization, Iran Broadcasting Company and Police Department, an expert in ICT who has been selected by Parliament industries and mines committee and one member from legal affairs committee.
