Telecommunication tariffs not included in targeted subsidies
“Under present situation, many telecommunication and communication tariffs will not be subsidized,” Hamid-Reza Fouladgar told Mobna news agency.
“Landline and mobile phones are installed and launched following Telecommunication subscribers’ deposits. In addition, call and service costs are charged to the subscriber,” he said.
On the basis of the subsidies Act, which has been passed by Parliament, the government is required to adjust postal service rates by the end of the Fifth Economic Development Plan
The act means revising the third term of the plan, according to which the government was obliged to implement postal rates to what they were before September 2004.
The Post Office has exceeded the rate by 40% since 2004 and despite complaints by private operators and Post Office customers the overcharging continues.
