Iran signaling network launched by March 2010: Infrastructure Co official
“The project started in late April 2009 and so far 70% of its equipments have been installed,” Mohammad-Bagher Zohourifar said.
“Establishment of an integrated signaling network is one of the aims of the Fourth Economic Development Plan,” he said.
“Regarding the rapid growth in modern technologies and in order to support future needs of NGN (next generation network), a signaling network central core has been designed using IP technology,” he added.
“The project has been implemented in 16 locations in 8 telecommunication centers including Tehran, Babol, Esfehan, Tabriz, Mashad, Ahvaz, Shiraz and Hamedan so that disconnection would be minimal,” he added.
“By implementing the project, all signals that pass through national network including infrastructure, operators’ and international networks will pass as integrated through the new Signaling Network and they will also be managed centrally from Tehran and Esfehan locations,” he said.
“When the network is activated, mobile phone operators will be more at ease in offering international roaming service,” he said.
