MCI signals amplified along country borders

“We have been in negotiation with neighboring countries and managed to reach some agreement. We have amplified our signals to some extent but further amplification is counterproductive as other neighboring countries would do the same,” Mohammad-Mehdi Ottoufi told Mobna news agency.
“There is a limit to how far we can amplify a signal at country borders, and we have urged our subscribers in those areas to change their mobile’s setting from automatic to manual in order to prevent interference and the subsequent roaming charge,” he said.
“There is interference in the towns of Taibad and Zabol which border Afghanistan as in border towns of Azerbaijan, Kurdistan, Khuzestan provinces and Persian Gulf islands,” he added.
“We recommend to subscribers who live in those areas and rarely travel abroad that they report to their local MCI bureau and deactivate their international roaming service,” he said.
