Parliament report on TCI to be submitted to committee on Apr 13
“The committee investigating the TCI affairs has reached its conclusion and it will the industries and mines committee which will dedicate the entire day reviewing the report,” Sharif-Husseini told Mobna news agency.
The Parliament in 2008 voted for a six-month investigation into TCI internal affairs which was extended by another six months.
Issues such as: directors’ funds, Telecom Research Center activities, landline phone service cost, the way tenders and auctions were conducted in the past four years, payments to TCI contractors are among those to be covered in the report.
Issues such as :amount of fund available to TCI directors, Telecom Research Center activities, landline and mobile phone cost prices, TCI tenders and auctions in the past four years, and payments to TCI contractors.
Other issues include: TCI’s raising of mobile phone sms tariffs without prior authorization, delay in production of equipment for six million mobile phone lines, lack of transparency in TCI financial documents, and transfer of TCI and its subsidiaries’ assets after TCI privatization.
