Parliament report on TCI to be submitted to I&M committee – by May 20

“A draft report has already been sent to the committee,” Nader Ghazipour, head of the investigating committee, told Mobna news agency.
He said his committee was in the process of compiling a final report.
Issues such as the amount of fund available to TCI directors, Telecom Research Center activities, landline and mobile phone cost prices, TCI tenders and auctions in the past four years, and payments to TCI contractors will be included in the report.
Other included items are: TCI’s raising of mobile phone sms tariffs without prior authorization, delay in production of equipment for six million mobile phone lines, lack of transparency in TCI financial documents, and transfer of TCI and its subsidiaries’ assets after TCI privatization.
Research by the investigation committee has shown that 76% of TCI purchases of telecommunication equipment were conducted outside the official norm which required ratification by the Cabinet.
