Pilot mms service launched in Tehran and Karaj: a telecommunication official
Multimedia Messaging Service (mms) is a standard for telephony messaging systems that allows sending messages that include multimedia objects (images, audio, video, rich text) and not just text as in Short Message Service (sms).
“Regulating mms laws has been finished. We hope that all subscribers can use this service in coming two months,” Telecommunication minister deputy Vafa Ghafarian told Mobna news agency.
“Currently few subscribers in Tehran and Karaj are using pilot mms service. After testing this service Radio Communication and Regulation Organization will survey MCIs installed equipments and if it approves them, then the service will be offered to all MCI subscribers,” he said.
“Second operator Irancells equipments for launching mms service have already received RCROs initial approval and it seems that Irancell offers this service soon,” Ghafarian added.
