Competition Council ruling on TCI deal out before year’s end

“Investigation on the TCI deal has not been halted and the Council is rigorously examining the whole affair, which it hopes to complete the investigation before the end of the year,” Jamshid Pajouyan told Mobna news agency.
The Parliament head of telecommunication committee had earlier questioned the validity of the transaction and how far fairplay was practiced.
The Council has also received reports from the General Inspection Organization and Parliament article 44 committee and is taking them into account in preparing the its conclusion.
The Council is made up of representatives from the country’s three main powers as well as economic and scientific experts.
The acquisition took place on Sep 27 when 50 per cent plus one of TCI stocks was sold on bourse to The Mobin Etemad Consortium as the biggest trade in bourse’s history.
