IDRO allowed to invest in Third Operator: IDRO deputy
“According to the new privatization law, IDRO is permitted to invest in 49 percent of Third Operator project,” Ramezan-Ali Sadeghzadeh told Mobna news agency.
“Three organizations, namely: Industrial Development and Renovation, Mines Development and Petrochemical Joint stock are to remain as developing organizations which may participate in partnership investment with 49 percent share,” he added.
“The foreign partner’s presence in Third Operator tender is not logical. Tender condition should be open to all so that applicants should support the project financially as consortia and domestic organizations,” he said.
According to Foreign Investment Act and in order to transfer technology to Iran, 51 percent share of Third Operator has been assumed for domestic partner and 49 percent for foreign partner.
It had been planned that Third Operator would release its sim cards in spring 2009 but after the dismissal of Etisalat and Zainas as tender winners, the project remains in doubt.
