MTC sale of 5,000 ‘round’ mobile phone numbers to date

 1st Operator prepaid SIM cards ‘round’ number auction entries, some 5,000 have been sold.
Alishahi, in conversation with MOBNA, indicated that in every such auction there have been applicants for 30% of the numbers, and the remaining ones have been left to the next auction.
He also announced there will be a 9th auction late May, in which 2,000 such numbers will be auctioned.
He did not, however, mention the proceeds.
The auctions began in autumn 2006 by MTC and some provincial telecom companies, and only 2,000 such numbers were offered for sale at a time.
The start price is decided by a Telecom committee and experts from the provinces concerned, and clients are required to purchase and complete the appropriate application forms.
At the first auction, SIM card no 09122111111 was sold at 72,100,000 Rial.
However, SIM card no 09127777777 fetched 577,777,770 Rial at the 5th auction, the highest so far.
