Sms fee hike obligatory for all operators: regulatory official
“The news of increase in non Perisan sms and decrease in Persian sms has been conveyed to Irancell (Iran second nationwide operator), and they are obliged to conform with governments decision and do as it is stated in their license.” said Radio Communication & Regulations Organization’s official Ahmad Farhadi said.
“Irancell sms fee is 160 rials (less than a cent) which they could now raise it to 20 per cent more than that of first nation wide operator (MCI) currently at 222 rials (around two cents), something they have not done so far,” he continued.
He pointed out that Taliya, which is in fact first operators subcontractor, is required to do as MCI.
He added that mobile phone operators have been given a few months notice to prepare ground for non Perisan sms and Persian sms separation and the deadline ended on June 21, and from now on all operators (including Isfahan’s Spadan and Kish Operator) are required to raise their non Persian sms.
