Iranian made BTS to replace foreign ones in southern Iran: official
“These Iranian-made BTS antennas are being installed in a city in the Fars Province on trial basis,” the Head of Mobile Telecom Expansion Consortium Mansour Kabiri Rahni told Mobna news agency.
He said that the move is in line with the fourth phase of the development project.
Rahni said that all existing BTS antennas in that city are to be replaced by Iranian-made antennas as part of a plan to replace BTS antennas in one city by antennas made by one manufacturer to establish standardization.
He said Iranian-made BTS antennas are in good quality and the Consortium is able to replace one thousand foreign antennas with Iranian-made antennas.
The fourth phase of mobile network development contract was signed last February with the Consortium to manufacture equipments such as BTS antennas and radio.
