Regulatory body approved state owned telecommunication company GPRS tariff
Regulation organization is Irans telecommunication ministrys regulatory body which sets the standards of operation, issues operation license and oversees the functions of the phone operators.
“TCIs GPRS service tariff is 14.8 rials (less than 1 cent) per kilobyte,” Radio Communication and Regulation Organization deputy Lotfollah Sabouhi told Mobna news agency.
Previously it was said that TCI intended to receive 50,000 rials (5 dollars) as GPRS service activation from its subscribers.
Currently another local operator Irancells GPRS service tariff is 15 rials (less than 1 cent) per kilobyte and no amount for initial activation is received from subscribers.
Currently Mobile Company of Iran has 27 million subscribers and it is planned to launch internet service in 22 August.
GPRS (General Packet Radio Service) is a communications service which uses packet technology to send data via networks.
