Dr Majid Soleimanipour – a life in brief
After primary and secondary education he entered the prestigious Abadan Oil Technology University in 1976.
On graduation and with the start of the eight-year Iran-Iraq war, he voluntarily joined Iranian forces mainly as electronic and telecom expert for nearly 60 months.
He later resumed his studies as post-graduate student in electrical engineering at Sharif Industrial University, graduating in 1984.
He also received an MSc in telecommunication from Khaje Nassir University in 1992 and later obtained a PhD in mobile communication from Canada’s Waterloo University in 1999.
He had since held various academic positions at Imam Hussein University followed by executive posts at Sabafon and Zein-Iran consortia and, lastly, as Mobin Etemad Consortium managing director.
He had published some 19 academic papers and held several seminars in the country and abroad.
He also supervised 30 university post-graduate and research students.
