Parliamentary report on TCI affairs finalized by April
“The committee is doing its utmost to finalize the report by the end of current Iranian year (Mar 20),” Ali-Asghar Yousef-Nejad told Mobna news agency.
Ghazipour, the committee chairman, had earlier asked the Information and Communication Technology Minister to give its full account of TCI affairs and had emphasized that unless a suitable reply from the Ministry was received it would be impossible to come to any conclusion on TCI affairs.
Items such as directors’ expenditures, workings of the Telecom Research Center, cost of landline and mobile phone services, the way TCI tenders have been conducted in the past four years, and payment to contractors are among subjects that the report is expected to cover.
Ambiguities on the way sms tariff was raised against current statute, delays in production of equipment for six million new mobile lines and the way TCI subsidiary companies’ assets have been transferred after the TCI privatization are other items that the report is expected to address.
