ICT Minister to back Parliament TCI report
“The report will be finalized this week and then submitted to Parliament board of governors,” Parliament telecommunication committee spokesman, Ali Motahhari, told Mobna news agency.
Investigation into TCI internal affairs had been assigned to Parliament industries and mines committee as early as March 2008.
Issues such as amount of fund available to TCI directors, Telecom Research Center activities, landline and mobile phone production costs, TCI tenders and auctions in the past four years, and payments to TCI contractors are expected to be included in the report.
Other included items are: Lack of significant improvement in landline and mobile phone services in recent years, TCI’s raising of mobile phone sms tariffs without authorization, delay in production of equipment for six million mobile phone lines, lack of transparency in TCI financial documents and the transfer of TCI and its subsidiaries’ assets after TCI privatization.
