Sending presidential election mass campaigning sms needs license
“CPs (content providers) in order to send mass sms for campaigning in the upcoming presidential election needs receiving certification from first mobile phone operator as their employee,” Magfa company managing director a mobile phone value added service provider said.
“Preliminary negotiations have been done with some candidates to use sms in presidential election campaigning. Sending mass sms needed the state-owned Mobile Company of Iran permission as employee and it can ban CPs activities in this field,” Mohammad-Reza Haeri-Yazdi told Irans mobile news agency (MOBNA).
“In last presidential election (9th election) CPs were not allowed to send mass campaigning sms for candidates. But in 8th presidential election the permission had been issued,” he said.
“It seems that this movement has huge revenue for state-owned Mobile Company of Iran but not dramatically for CPs” he continued.
10th presidential election will be held on 12 June.
