Increase in private sector’s income from Mobile Company of Iran services
Their income was generated from sale of charge cards and application registration for post- and pre-paid sim cards rose from 167 million rials (17,400 dollars) in 2006-7 to 206 million rial (21,500 dollars) in 2007-8.
Iran Mobile Company’s public relation announced that the annual income by telecom bureaus from such services rose from 208 billion rials (more than 21 million dollars) in 2006-7 to 454 billion rials (more than 47 million dollars) in 2007-8.
The report also says that the income made by Tehran Province’s 490 telecom bureaus in 2007 for the same services reached 104 billion rials (around 11 million dollars) showing a substantial rise over the previous period which was 44 billion rials (more than 4.5 million dollars).
There were 245 telecom bureaus across the country in 2006 increasing to 2,200 the following year.
