Industries ministry main impediment in decreasing mobile import tariff
“Mobile sets import tariff will decline if commerce ministrys article one commission recognize its necessity,” Iran Trade Promotion Center export and import office general manager Khalil Safdel told Mobna news agency.
Commerce ministrys article one commission compromises ministers of commerce, mines and industries, economic Affairs and agriculture-jihad ministries.
“10 percent mobile sets import tariff proposition is only facing one opposition and that is mines and industries ministry,” he said.
“In February 2008 article one commission members offered 10 percent mobile sets import tariff to the commission that four ministers rejected it,” he added.
“Mines and industries ministry officials believe that by decreasing mobile sets import tariff, the capital which has have been put into manufacturing mobile phone domestically will be wasted,” Safdel added.
“Among commission one members anti commodity smuggling organization has protected decreasing sets import tariff in all the meetings,” he said.
