IDRO ready to acquisition 49% Third Operator stake

“Of course the acquisition would require Tamin Telecom’s permission,” Ramadanali Sadeghzadeh told Mobna news agency.
“Third Operator is a high-tech project and IDRO is normally permitted to take part in such projects,” he added.
He said IDRO had already announced its willingness to take part in installing project equipment.
“IDRO has offered to take part in the project mainly to support private sector but would withdraw if current law would not allow it,” he said.
The Minister of Information and Communication Technology, Reza Taghipour, earlier this month had formally assigned the project to Tamin Telecom Company, owned by the Social Security Organization.
Third Operator is required to issue 17 million sim cards in the first 15 years of its operation and a fruitful competition is expected among country’s mobile phone operators.
