Schools internet project reassigned to Data Company
”Connecting schools to the national internet network has been done partly by the Information and Communication Technology ministry IT deputy and partly by the Information Technology Company,” ICT minister IT deputy, Abdolmajid Riyazi told Mobna news agency.
He did not mention the reason for the reassignment but said that its implementation by ICT ministry was important.
The idea of schools being connected to the national internet network first came about in 2006.
There has been an agreement on the implementation between Education and ICT ministries and they are to supply the fund.
According to the agreement, 100,000 schools will be connected to the internet national network in three phases.
The Information Technology Company managing director said that the project had to be completed by the end of the Fifth Economic Development Plan (2015).
